I do the same. Having a dog and a teenage son help me not to dread being awake. I love them both so much. Still, I have to have a 3-4 hour nap every day.

My psych started me on a new med that somehow boosts my desire and ability to do stuff. So, slowly, I've begun to dig out from under the wreckage that was my house. For so long, I really couldn't do anything. Fortunately, my mother and I live on the same property and she has been able to step in and take on much of the care of my son. I really don't know what would have happened otherwise and I try not to think about it.

So, my routine is, get up, make coffee, go on the computer for a bit. Then back to bed for some reading. Then I might grab something simple to eat, like fruit, or yogurt. Often, then, I take on some project around my house: vacuuming or dusting or doing dishes--whatever. And I've learned that, when I can't do any more and have to go back to bed, I should be proud of what I've done, and not dissapointed that it wasn't more.
